1. I think of all the things the living might be doing, things I've only read about in books but could actually do if I went to the town: run races or play games with other children; watch a show in a theatre surrounded by warm smiling faces...(p12) 2. Out of the corners of my eyes, I see fleeting glimpes of light and colour deep inside the void. The sweep of a rainbow, the twinkle of nebulae, billowing storm clouds, and the infinite arc of the Milky Way.(p17)(这段对星云的描写很漂亮) 3. The young always find it hardest to pass through The Gate. It seems unfair that their time spent on Earth is so short. Baba says 'it's not how long a life, but how sweet a life that counts.'(p19)

1. -How can you be lonely surrounded by people? -You know, if they aren't friendly, or if they don't understand you.(p36)

1. I wish I could choose what I want to be when I grow up. I wish it so much it hurts, deep inside my chest.(p54) 2. It's strange, seeing myself through someone else's eyes. It makes me feel more real somehow.(p55) 感想:哎…

1. Nothing is forever. Everything moves on; the living, the dead, the house.(p78) 2. Then you explain what the soul has gained from their life and is taking to the stars. It is often the love of family or friends, but there is an endless variety of gifts the dead take with them: the power of music, the excitement of discovery, the light of hope...(p85) 3. Sometimes the best way to learn is to jump in.(p87)

1. It's frightening having someone else's memories and feelings inside my head.(p99) 2. Everyone needs a day off now and then.(p110) 3. As soon as the words slip out of my mouth, it's like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders.(p119) 该走的也不得不let it go。

1. Everything will fall into place, I'm sure of it. The morning is wiser than the evening.(p134) 感想:啊!

1. Huge dark ships loom out to sea, pinpricks of coloured lights decorating their hulls, and the wind carries the smell of the port: seaweed, fish and people. Real, live, living people.(p155)

1. The memory makes me smile, but it makes me sad too.(p199)

1. It feels like the bigger my universe grows, the darker it gets.(p233) 2. Don't give up on the living though. There are more good people than bad people in this world. You just have to be careful, and choose your friends wisely.(p236)

In this universe full of possibilities, there has to be another way of making things right, without being forced to accept the fate I don't want.

Nobody is yours to keep. Nothing is for ever. (p314) Some mistakes you have to make for yourself. I'm just glad you got home safe. I see the whole universe in the tiny puddle and I smile.
