我们是多么欢欢喜喜地自投地狱啊!(p22)(Ah!how cheerfully we consigh ourselves to perdition!) 3. (p38)(Ignorance is the parent of fear.)

(p563)(as the two ships crossed each other’s wakes——one all jubilations for things passed, the other all forebodings as to things to come——their two captains in themselves impersonated the whole striking contrast of the scene.) 2. (p649)( all the things that most exasperate and outrage mortal man, all these things are bodiless, but only bodiless as objects, not as agent.) 3. (p659)(then all collapsed, and the great shroud of the sea rolled on as it rolled five thousand years ago.)
